There are structures we pass through every day without realising it.
When something disrupts their apparent naturalness, they suddenly become visible. That is where new possibilities for action open up.

Explores the male gaze as a cultural structure that shapes the way in which the female body is viewed, desired and socially constructed. Through interventions on familiar images, objects and forms of expression, each work subverts a different mechanism that contributes to the construction of female desirability, revealing how it operates. Rather than merely representing the male gaze, the series dismantles the axiom that desirability equals value, bringing to light structures which, precisely because they are so deeply internalised, tend to go unnoticed.

The balconette bra is the scaffolding of desire: a device that supports, lifts and accentuates. In Terrace, the wordplay between ‘balconette’ and ‘balcony’ is drawn upon to reconfigure its function. What is designed to expose the body becomes a space to be inhabited. The breasts emerge, rest, and take up space. They are not displayed for the desire of others, but reclaim the natural place that belongs to them as a simple anatomical feature. Through this shift, what culture has constructed as an object of desire returns, even if only for a moment, to being simply the body.

Sex War, 2025

The expression of female sexuality is shaped by the codes of the male gaze, which ultimately also influences the way in which women learn to see themselves, judge themselves and attribute meanings to their own bodies.
Sex War stems from the question: who decides when a pair of shoes is ‘cheap and tacky’?
A pair of court shoes is transformed by replacing the heel with a hand-modelled penis. The phalluses, made from brightly coloured foam, straddle the line between toy and pop icon. Are they sex toys or childish images? Do they represent imposed desire or a parody of that very power?
Through irony and a shift in meaning, the work also reconfigures the visual language of pornography, laying bare the power structure that underpins it.

It is the linguistic emblem of a body occupied by power and by the norms of the dominant gender. ‘Man’ is the central subject, whilst ‘woman’ is what derives from it. The word ‘MAN’ is covered with pubic hair, a real and unmistakable trace of the female body. A sort of reverse censorship that exposes the gender hierarchy inscribed within the word itself. Through this act of overwriting, the female body reclaims its autonomy, making visible the power dynamics that have defined its representation. Sexuality has no female owners, but male owners.

To Not Catch a Cold, 2025 Granny Panties, 2025

The bra is one of the first items imposed on girls as they grow up.
Made of wool, it prevents the nipples from reacting to the cold, revealing how even an involuntary physiological response can become subject to cultural control.
Even when she is cold, the female body continues to be interpreted as intentional: a nipple that stiffens can be seen as a sign of availability, provocation or indecency.
What is simply a matter of anatomy thus ends up falling within the realm of sexuality.
The expression ‘granny panties’ is commonly used to describe women’s underwear considered not to conform to standards of desirability.
In Granny Panties, an embroidery depicts pubic hair on a pair of briefs traditionally regarded as ‘unsexy’. What is normally concealed suddenly covers the entire surface of the garment, publicly exposing what culture deems inappropriate or out of place.
The work highlights how even an everyday garment contributes to the construction of ideals of female attractiveness, demanding that women be desirable, yet without allowing them to determine the conditions of their own desirability.

A crowd moves through public space. Amongst the people, a few performers dressed in black suddenly interrupt the flow of everyday life by shouting “Hey!” through a megaphone. The amplification of the sound and the sudden demand for attention shatter, if only for a moment, the bubbles of self-absorption through which we move through public space. Every call is an assertion of presence. A minimal gesture that disrupts indifference and questions the conditions that allow a voice to be recognised, heard or ignored.
Tempo (Gnic Gnic), 2024

20 Minutes June 16 2024 , PERFORMA24, Brera Academy of Fine Arts, Milan
A lit candle marks the passage of time during the performance. As long as it remains lit, the performer continues to jump over its flame, accelerating her pace which, like a metronome, defines her intent and measures her performance.
However much the body accelerates, the candle continues to burn down. The passage of time cannot be controlled, nor can it be caught up with.
The performance offers an experience of the capitalist system that transforms time into a measure of productivity. In the constant attempt to keep pace with a model of infinite growth, the body ends up wearing itself down, revealing the ‘gnic gnic’ of a human condition consumed by acceleration.

A bottomless postbox collects attempts at understanding that have never been acknowledged. The messages pile up to form a mountain of suspended words, revealing the conflict between the desire for connection and the need for protection. The work explores what prevents us from allowing ourselves to be known.

The work questions the cost of belonging and the possibility of rewriting our own way of navigating social conventions. Starting from Martha Rosler’s “Semiotics of the Kitchen”, the performer prepares a breakfast following an unusual recipe. Social conventions take the form of oranges, which are squeezed until they are completely emptied of their contents. Stripped of its meaning, each peel is transformed into a container for scrambled eggs and bacon.
The action symbolically overturns the power dynamics that define, classify and exclude individuals. What imposes a pre-established identity is stripped of its original function and reconfigured as a space capable of accommodating personal desires, aspirations and experiences. The public is invited to replicate the recipe, transforming an everyday gesture into a means of reappropriation.

Actions inside a photomatic booth
Taking the identity card as a symbol of identification and standardisation, the project subverts the function of the photo booth, transforming it into a space for free expression. Photography, once an instrument of institutional recognition, becomes a conscious act through which to affirm the complexity of one’s identity. The work challenges the conventions governing the representation of the individual and the way in which social perception intertwine.
