Interrogates the systems that represent the sick body, challenging the notion of health as the norm. Through installations and participatory devices, everyday objects are reconfigured to highlight the tensions between care and control, presenting illness as a condition capable of revealing the cultural and political structures that define normality and belonging.
Interroga i sistemi che rappresentano il corpo malato, mettendo in discussione l’idea di salute come norma. Attraverso installazioni e dispositivi partecipativi, oggetti quotidiani vengono riconfigurati per rendere visibili le tensioni tra cura e controllo, proponendo la malattia come una condizione capace di rivelare le strutture culturali e politiche che definiscono normalità e appartenenza.

Self-portrait with armrests, printed ballasts and inflatable pool
Armrests, ballast weights and an inflatable swimming pool construct a landscape suspended between rescue and sinking. Objects that promise safety instead produce a precarious balance, transforming shipwreck into a permanent condition. The work challenges the notion of recovery as the only possible outcome and questions the models that determine which bodies may be recognised and supported.
Braccioli, zavorre e una piscina gonfiabile costruiscono un paesaggio sospeso tra salvataggio e affondamento. Oggetti che promettono sicurezza producono invece un equilibrio precario, trasformando il naufragio in una condizione permanente. L’opera mette in discussione la guarigione come unico orizzonte possibile e interroga i modelli che stabiliscono quali corpi possano essere riconosciuti e sostenuti.

The installation gathers the medication leaflets collected by the artist over the years, transforming them into an archive of her own experience of illness. The work highlights the link between health and economic status, questioning the progressive privatisation of healthcare in Italy and showing how money can determine access to care, waiting times and treatment options.
L’installazione riunisce i foglietti illustrativi dei farmaci raccolti dall’artista nel corso degli anni, trasformandoli in un archivio della propria esperienza di malattia. L’opera rende visibile il legame tra salute e condizione economica, interrogando la progressiva privatizzazione della sanità in Italia e mostrando come il denaro possa determinare l’accesso alla cura, i tempi dell’attesa e le possibilità di trattamento.

A closed door and a knife symbolise the conflict between the desire to resolve a situation and the impossibility of doing so. The attempt to break down the door proves futile, demonstrating that not every obstacle can be overcome by force. The work reflects on the relationship between control and vulnerability, exploring the time required to navigate what cannot be resolved immediately.
Una porta chiusa e un coltello danno forma al conflitto tra il desiderio di risolvere e l’impossibilità di farlo. Il tentativo di abbattere la porta si rivela inutile, mostrando come non ogni ostacolo possa essere superato con la forza.
L’opera riflette sul rapporto tra controllo e vulnerabilità, interrogando il tempo necessario per attraversare ciò che non può essere risolto immediatamente.
